Thank you notes for kids

It is our job as parents to teach our kids how to write a thank you note. In this day in age, too many people send an email, text or even verbalize a thank you. We need to remember that if someone takes the time to "think" of us, we need to take a moment to "think" of them and think of them respectfully with a thank you note. With that being said, if we do not teach our kids how to write one...they will never learn. We can not expect them just to know. They need not to just fill in the blanks on a card. Even if they only write one sentence it is WAY better than a fill in the blank thank you note card. So come on parents, take a moment and sit down with your children and explain the importance of writing a thank you note. As soon as a child is able to write their name, they are ready to write a thank you note. Start by having them just sign their names on the cards. As they get a little older, have them sit with you while you write them and explain what you are writing and again have them sign the cards. When they can write a full sentence...they are on their own. If you think "oh, they just can not write so many" have them do 1-2 notes per day. You gauge how much, as each child is completely different. Do not sell your child short though, they will get excited to do it once they have some cute stationery to write on. Holiday Season Just Around the Corner

It is so hard to believe that yet another holiday season is just around the corner. I truly feel I just finished with the last one. With that being said, I love this time of year. I love it for many reasons. I love catching up with some customers I haven't seen in awhile. Holiday Season is always busier with people purchasing holiday cards and holiday gifts. I love getting into the spirit of things and I begin to purchase gifts here and there to get ready. I also love knowing that some family bonding time will be here soon too! We always go to Florida as a family and it is so nice to just relax and regroup. I don't like buying everything at once...

Let Events in Ink help you with your long list of people to buy for. We have gifts in all different price ranges. Many people email me or setup an appt. with the names of people they need to purchase for and how much they would like to spend. I will then give you many suggestions and find just the right thing! Some great gift ideas are:

  • Personalized Bookmarks
  • Personalized Coffee Travel Mugs
  • Personalized Deck of Cards
  • Personalized Beverage or Guest Towels
  • Personalized Stationery
  • Personalized Notepaper
  • Personalized Plates and Platters
  • Personalized Stampers

This year, Events in Ink has several pick up options. Need a quick gift for $15 or less...I have them in stock and ready to go.

Thanks are in order

Show your gratitude for a thoughtful gift by sending a hearfelt "thank you"...

  • Make it a goal to have all your thank you notes in the mail within a week of receiving the gift.
  • Have fun, personalized stationery on hand. This will make you look more forward to having to write them.
  • Keep your thank you notes in a drawer or area with stamps so you are organized and ready to go any time a thank you note is needed.
  • Thank you notes aren't just for gifts. Send one whenever someone does something nice for you. It will make you and the person receiving the note, feel good.

  • Let them pick out fun, personalized stationery that they will be excited to use!
  • Motivate older kids to write thank you notes by not allowing them to use the gift until the note has been written.
  • If they are too young to write, have the child draw a picture. This will help them get "used" to writing them when they get older.
